Burning Body: The new series by Money Heist star Úrsula Corberó

Úrsula Corberó has come out with a new Netflix limited series called Burning Body. The series is based on a true story where in 2017, the scorched body of a police car is found inside of a car next to a swamp in Barcelona. During the following months, the story of his girlfriend Rosa played by Úrsula and her ex Albert, who is played by Quim Gutiérrez is unraveled and we learn about this love traingle´s toxic relationship, sexual scandals and violance.

This thriller was created and written by Laura Sarmiento with the help of Eduard Solá, José Luis Martín and Carlos López. It was directed by Jorge Torregrossa and Laura Mañá. It was released on the 8th of September  and it has 8 episodes with an average duration of 48 mintues. It was not so well received by the media, having an IMDb score of 6,7 and a 6,5 in FilmAffinity.

The series sparked a lot of controvery since it is based on a true and recent story, the real life character that Úrsula played came out and reiterated her innocence from prison where she is currently serving a 25 year sentence. She stated that quote “I have not killed Pedro. I have said it a thousand times and I will continue to repeat it. I’m not going to stop fighting for something I don’t consider fair. The sentence is not fair. It seems surreal to me that I am sentenced to murder when it is not even known how the death occurred”.
