Yash himself has written most of the dialogues for his role in this movie. Ujwal Kulkarni, who is the editor of the movie was just 17 years old when director Prashanth Neel approached him and offered the editing job for K.G.F: Chapter 2. He was approached after director Prashanth Neel came across his fan edits in YouTube and was impressed by his work.

An actor beeing accused and incarcerated

Adheera’s (Sanjay Dutt) look is inspired by Ragnar Lothbrok’s (Travis Fimmel) look from the Vikings series. The actor Sanjay Dutt was incarcerated in 1993 for possession of illegal weapons procured from other accused in the 1993 Bombay bombings. After serving his sentence, he was released in 2016. Yash’s character Rocky Bhai’s favorite weapon in the movie is a sledgehammer. The makers took inspiration from WWE Pro Wrestling legend Triple H who uses the sledgehammer to attack his opponents.

Most watched teaser in Indian History

The film’s teaser became the most viewed teaser in less than 24 hours (12.5 hours) by beating the previous record of Saaho (22.5 million views In 24 hours). It received 109 million views in the first 24 hours across five languages

Director Prashanth Neel retained most of the technical crew from his first movie “Ugramm” including cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda and music director Ravi Basrur. KGF 2 registered a box office collection of 1250 Crores (US$160 million) globally. It has shattered many box office records to date. It is now the highest-earning Kannada film of all time. ‘Toofan’ KGF 2’ first song released on March 21, 2022, is India’s most viewed lyrical video with 38 million views.

According to speculations, KGF Chapter 2 was all set to release in the year 2020. But because of the pandemic, the creators decided to delay its theatrical release.

A movie designed to be a two part release

Prashanth Neel, worked on the film’s screenplay after the release of Ugramm (2014), and development of the film began in early 2015. However, he decided to split the film in two parts, as the narration of this story is in a non-linear format, and the decision to split the film into two parts, also had to with the commercial prospects. As a part of the promotional activities, a fictional newspaper named K.G.F Times was designed based on vintage newspapers. Starting from 4 to 10 January 2021, the makers unveiled the new editions of the film through their social media accounts.

Record of screens for a new release

The movie was reported to release in more than 10,000 screens worldwide. In India, the film was released in over 6000 screens. In North India the film was released in more than 4500 screens, the Hindi in more than 1100 screens and in South India the film in more than 2600 screens.
